Lessons lost in time

{“That smells delicious!”} exclaimed James as he entered the room. The aroma of fish stew filling the air.

Chunhau smiled and bowed her head in gratitude.

Bohai smiled walking over to him.

{“Close your eyes James and tell me what you see?”} requested Bohai.

{“With my eyes closed Bohai, I will not be able to see anything!”} James giggled.

{“Try.”} smiled Bohai

James closed his eyes.

{“Now can you see the aroma? Can you taste it? Can you feel the succulence of the fish in your mouth? Can you hear the sound of our meal being prepared?”}

{“Seeing, feeling, taste, smell, hearing, combine wisdom to give us understanding for many things James.”}

{“With enlightened wisdom we can watch the fish as it swims in tranquil waters. Breathing in ancient lessons of the oceans.”

“Can you travel with the fish James to understand the gift it now gives us?”}

{“In all things there is a deeper understanding to discover.”}

{“Just as a breeze, is not just; a breeze.

To those whose eyes are opened it can be seen, felt, smelled, heard and in it, you can taste the sweetness of nature’s breath.

A rock is not just a rock; a leaf, not just a leaf; a flower, not just a flower; a twig, not just a twig; and a sound begins somewhere to be heard.”}

James opened his eyes smiling at the wise old man.

{“Thank you Bohai”} James said, humbled with gratitude.
