Moist morning dew – tears in the ocean.
The moist air of the morning dew dripped from the wooden shingles of the siheyuan as Melanie woke.
No thoughts of New York in 2020 had invaded her dreams as she slept. She had drifted on the tranquil seas of years long ago.
Chunhau smiled as she discreetly entered the room with aromatic tea that now filled the air.
Melanie giggled to herself as she watched Chunhau’s modesty, being careful not to look at James’s bare chest as he lay there sleeping.
Smiling again and with a simple bow of her head; Chunhau said quietly.

Dressing James let out a little giggle.
“What are you laughing at?” Melanie asked with a frown.
“I was just thinking.” he smiled
“What?”
“It’s 1775 Canton China.”
“Yeah!”
“We didn’t get married for the first time in Versailles until 1789, but you slept with me last night!”
“Oh my God James!!! Trust you to think of that; men!”
Bohai was deep in thought as they entered his studio. He looked up with a smile and held out a welcoming hand.

Chunhau bowed, smiled, sat and played

We are the custodians of some of the most exquisite examples of hand carved artistry from 200 years ago,. These were commissioned by King George III of Great Britain & Ireland for Queen Charlotte in 1780.
