Where is it? Where is it!!?
A week had gone by since her email from Christian Bourbon had arrived. Melanie had replied immediately but was now kicking herself that she hadn’t asked for a reply receipt confirmation.
Instead each day she waited anxiously for the mail to arrive, or possibly a parcel delivery.
She had told Marie that there were letters on the way from her daughter Marie-Thérèse. The Queen had no words at hearing the news; only tears of joy.
As the DHL van pulled up out front, Melanie held her breath. With a knock on the door her prayers were answered. Hands shaking, she signed the delivery docket, her legs were weak as she took the long-awaited parcel.
The argument with herself began.
“I’ll wait for James to get home from work.”
“No, you can’t. Open it now!” said her other inner voice
“He needs to be here; Marie-Thérèse was his flower girl at the wedding in 1789 as well!”
“He won’t mind if you open it and read it first!”
“Don’t do it! Wait!”
“I can hear the echoes of her voice reaching out from the letters!!” wailed Melanie’s inner soul.
“Wait for James. Wait for Marie Antoinette………..”

“Ne t'inquiète pas Maman, il m'a gardé en sécurité pendant notre voyage à Vienne.”
