A horse a horse; my kingdom for a horse!
“How are we to get the Queen to Edinburgh Castle James? It’s 71 miles from here! The Forth Bridge doesn’t get built until 1882 and we are in 1437! How will we get over the river?”
“Let’s worry about that when we get there Mel! First, we need to find a carriage or a cart to get her there. She sure a hell can’t walk with that leg wound.”
“I’ve stopped the bleeding but she is very weak.” Melanie whispered.
Leaving the castle grounds, the Queen cried out in anguish and pain.
“O meu Señor está morto!" A miña vida deslízase de min! Axúdeme a chegar ao meu fillo.!"
{“My Lord is dead! My life slips away from me! Help me reach my child!”}
“Ti estarás a salvo da miña raíña. Podes confiar en nós. Sabemos como salvalo.” pleaded Melanie reassuringly.
{“You will be safe my Queen. You can trust us. We know how to save you.”} pleaded Melanie reassuringly.
The darkness was as if the sun had never risen. The bitter cold of the winter air came in waves off the heather and the frozen hills of the moors.
“I’ll never complain about the weather in New York again James; this is bitter. I can’t feel my figures or toes!”
“You should try wearing this Kilt! What were they thinking!?”
As the old man approached, a glimmer of hope passed over them.
"¿Estás preocupado as miñas señoras e bo señor?" he asked in earnest.
{“Are you troubled my ladies and good Sir?”} he asked in earnest.
"Necesitamos axuda para chegar a Edimburgo. Podes axudar a guiarnos?” asked James.
{“We need assistance to get to Edinburgh. Can you help guide us?”} asked James.
"Está moi lonxe señor e o tempo chega."
{“It is very far Sir and the time is late.”}
Suddenly as if a blinding light in the darkness of an eternal midnight had come over him, the old man looked at the Queen.
"Súa Maxestade!" he exclaimed dropping to his knees.
{“Your Majesty!”} he exclaimed dropping to his knees.
"Son un surfista da casa de Robertson de Strowan, o xefe do Clan Donnachie, a miña vida é a túa."
{“I am a surf of the house of Robertson of Strowan the chieftain of the Clan Donnachie, my life is yours to command.”}
“That’s a stroke of good luck Mel.” whispered James
“All is gonna be ok; I told you.”
“My feet are still frozen and I’m worried about that kilt thing! I want to have kids one day.” chuckled Melanie.
