Escape from Perth to Edinburgh; the Queen is safe.

James held the claymore with both hands. Melanie was shaking with fear.

“This can’t be happening James!”

“Stay close beside me, we will be ok.”

The corridor of the castle was dark with the only light coming from the flaming torches on the walls.

They could see the Queen ahead of them, stumbling from her wound. The knife wound inflicted by Robert Graham as she tried to save her husband from them, had cut deep into her leg.

“Try to keep up Mel, she needs our help.”

The queen stumbled as they reached her.

“Por favor, non me maten"

{“Please don’t kill me”} she cried.

“Súa Maxestade estamos aquí para axudarche. Non teñas medo de nós. Axudarémosche a escapar.”

{“Your Majesty we’re are here to help you. Don’t be afraid of us. We will help you escape.”}

She was sobbing as she cried.

“Quen eres? Mataron o meu señor!”

{“Who are you? They have killed my lord!”}

“Estamos viaxeiros afastados que che axudan ao castelo de Edimburgo o mozo James necesita que chegas a el.” James offered in reassurance.

{“We are distant travellers come to help you to Edinburgh Castle young James needs you to get to him.”} James offered in reassurance.

Melanie reached out to help her stable herself as she fell against the cold stone wall of the castle corridor. The blood from the wound on her leg stained the floor where she rested.

Ripping a piece of cloth from her dress Melanie bound it tightly over the wound

“Ven connosco a túa Maxestade” Melanie begged her.

{“Come with us your Majesty”} Melanie begged her.

Disappearing down into the safety of the castle. The three; one from the present; and two from the future made their way to escape.

“I thought you said we would watch from a safe distance James!” demanded Melanie.

“The best laid plans of mice and men, my love.” James offered.

“I guess we now know how she managed to escape from Perth to Edinburgh Castle Mel – it was us!”

“This isn’t the relaxing vacation you promised!

I’m gonna demand a refund!” Melanie grimaced as they retreated into the relative safety and darkness of the castle walls.
