The outer floral border is also intricately carved and is simply stunning. Words and superlatives are insufficient to describe the striking detail achieved by its artist.

The other side is equally incredible in its attention to aesthetically pleasing detail in the outer rings surrounding the very fine back hatching around the monogram – initials MAP of the nobleman who must have commissioned this piece to be handmade, circa 1810 in Canton during the last Dynasty of Imperial China.
