Ask the mountains
The struggle of the Jacobite highlanders weighed heavy on James as he reflected on the battle he had just witnessed.
There would be better journeys ahead for them.
Sitting quietly in the apartment he took Melanie’s hand.
“I don’t think I would have lasted long in those days Mel.” he reflected. “It must have been a very hard time in history.”
“Yes James; but there must have been times of great joy too.” she replied. “We are living through some pretty rough times now as well. I was writing in my blog the other day about the fears I have for America right now. {The shadows of Hate}
Those days in Scotland fighting for freedom are now lost to history. But these days we are living through with the hate spreading across our country will most likely go down as a time when we failed to fight for our land or our values.
I prefer to think that struggle and the fight are worth the effort and maybe; just maybe, others will join us.”
Close your eyes James and let’s travel back in time to ask the wisdom of the mountains.
