Dreaming

Slipping back into her dreams, Melanie feeling safe in James’s arms allowed the beauty of her reality to flow over her.

Her inner consciousness given by her sleep, absorbing all the essence of the past.

The euphoria of life as it was now; outside the hatred that was gripping her homeland in 2019 was diluted by the past.

Marie Antoinette’s smile; her sister and the memories of that day many years from now in 1789 when James would marry her in the gardens of the Palace in Versailles, warmed her.

In her dreams, she was no longer cold or concerned.

As in bliss she dreamed; life was how it was always meant to be.

Tomorrow they would reach Edinburgh Castle and the Queen would be safe again with her son, young James.

When in her apartment overlooking Central Park, would she long for this night to be once more?

To be continued in Melanie’s Biography with love for her sister by her side.
