Play for James

“How was your day Mel?” James asked as he came through the door.

“Well if we hadn’t had all our journeys back in time, I would say you wouldn’t believe me.” Melanie giggled.

“What have you been up to now?” James grinned.

“Well you know at the show in Chinatown the other night that said that I recognised Chunhau, Bohai’s daughter?”

“Yes, but you didn’t explain.”

“Well I popped over to Canton in 1775 to meet up with them.”

“What?”

“Want to take a short trip?”

“I’m in! Can we get back before tomorrow’s management meeting?”

“I’ll see what we can arrange my love!”

Slipping into their dreams Melanie held his hand.

Bohai was in his studio working on the Queen Charlotte pieces when they arrived.

“梅拉妮,我未來的朋友; 歡迎回到我謙虛的家。”

{“Melanie my friend from the future; welcome back to my humble home.”} smiled Bohai when he saw them.

“再次問候渤海; 我希望帶我的丈夫詹姆斯分享您的藝術。 我希望這不是入侵?”

{“Greetings again Bohai; I wished to bring my husband James to share in your art. I hope that is not an intrusion?”}

“詹姆斯您好,很榮幸認識您。 我希望所有的普遍智慧也能把你帶到這裡!”

{“Hello James it is my great honour to meet you. I was hoping that all universal wisdom would bring you here also!”}

Bohai called out to Chunhau.

“春豪,朋友們到了。 讓我們喝茶並歡迎他們。”

{“Chunhau, friends have arrived. Let us drink tea and welcome them.”}

Chunhau’s smile was as warm as the morning sun as she entered.

“媚蘭!” exclaimed Chunhau excitedly. “我非常想告訴您有關您是如何激發我的音樂的。 請過來和我一起坐。”

{“Melanie!”} exclaimed Chunhau excitedly. {“I have so much I want to tell you about how you have inspired my music. Please come and sit with me.”}

Taking Melanie’s hand Chunhau led her to her studio.

“我想我需要給詹姆斯喝茶!”

{“I think I need to prepare the tea James!”} smiled Bohai

“那將是很棒的渤海。”

{“That would be wonderful Bohai.”} assured James, while thinking to himself: - I can’t believe I’m speaking Chinese!

The music of the ancients drifted in the air from Chunhau’s figures.
