The passing of wisdom.
It had been a glorious spring day.
Melanie and James spent their time by a mountain pond, the sunshine through the trees warm on their shoulders. The mist cascading from the waterfall catching the light to give them the gift of a rainbow.
Returning to the siheyuan the scent of plum blossoms filled the air.
“You have been quiet for the last hour or so James, a penny for your thoughts” she said.
“I was just thinking Mel, there is so much tranquillity here, it seems as if there is a deep understanding of life that we have either forgotten, or have never learned.
I wonder if anything we have in 2020 New York, would be seen as having any value to Bohai and Chunhau?”
“I don’t know James, maybe, maybe not.
I know they wouldn’t be happy with what has and is happening to the world right now.”
“Yeah! Anyway, I feel I want to absorb as much of Bohai’s wisdom before we have to go back Mel.”
“Let’s take our time James, I’m in no rush to leave here either!”
As the sun was setting, Melanie looked out from the veranda of the siheyuan. James and Bohai were sitting side by side in silent meditation.
She stared at the pair.
For all intents and purposes, she swore she could see their auras combining with a wave passing from Bohai to James.
Was this a passing of wisdom? she thought.
Chunhau gave her gift for the day.
